Fortis Inc. is thrilled to announce results of the 2001 CIBC Run For The Cure which was held September 30. A total of 10 teams consisting of approximately 220 employees, friends and families from Fortis Inc., Fortis Properties, Maritime Electric, and Newfoundland Power represented Fortis in the CIBC Run For The Cure and together raised a whopping $18,807.

Fortis, with a large employee presence throughout Atlantic Canada, participated in run sites in St. John’s, Sydney, Halifax, Charlottetown, Saint John, and Moncton. In Atlantic Canada, the CIBC Run For the Cure attracted approximately 16,255 participants and raised $1.6 million.

Fortis is committed to raising money for and awareness about breast cancer research, treatment and education. As First Regional Sponsor in Atlantic Canada of the CIBC Run For the Cure, Fortis, in partnership with Fortis Properties and Maritime Electric, has committed to contribute $75,000 over the next three years to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (Atlantic Canada Chapter).
