St. John's, NL - (January 14, 2002) 

Fortis Properties Corporation, a leading owner/manager of office buildings and hotels throughout Atlantic Canada, announced today construction of a conference facility which will add an additional 4,000 square feet of meeting space to the Maritime Centre / Four Points by Sheraton Hotel facilities.

The conference facility will be located in the Maritime Centre, and managed by the Four Points by Sheraton Halifax which is adjoined to the property. The space will total 6,000 square feet and will include 5 meeting rooms and crush lobby area. The project, currently under construction, is expected to be completed and open by March 1, 2002.
