Fortis Properties Corporation, a leading owner/manager of office buildings and hotels throughout Atlantic Canada, announced today that it successfully conducted a full building evacuation of the Maritime Centre this morning as part of Fire Safety Prevention Week (October 6-12 ).
The scheduled safety drill for tenants of the Maritime Building had been in planning stages for weeks and was an organized drill to prepare building occupants for a safe and orderly evacuation in the event of a fire or emergency situation.
" This drill was organized to further educate tenants of the Maritime Centre on evacuation procedures in the event of an emergency. We are pleased with the response and cooperation of tenants in the Maritime Centre, stated Pam Kennedy, Regional Property Manager. Approximately 2,000 individuals participated in today’s drill and evacuated the building in a safe and organized manner,” added Kennedy.
