Brunswick Square Celebrates 25 Years of Serving Saint John

(SAINT JOHN, NEW BRUNSWICK) September 27, 2002 – Brunswick Square is pleased to announce plans to celebrate its 25th Anniversary October 1-5 with events planned for the weeklong celebration. “On Tuesday, Oct 1st, there will be an official kick off with a Cake Cutting ceremony & live entertainment at 12 noon in Centre Court, stated Lou Pitre Ouellette, Regional Property Manager for Fortis Properties, who own and operate Brunswick Square. “Other events planned for the week include two fashion shows, an evening with the Saint John Flames and activities in Centre Court all week. These events are all open to the general public,” stated Pitre.
Brunswick Square stands on the site previously home to MRA’s department store and the Royal Hotel. Since Brunswick Square first opened twenty-five years ago it has undergone many changes, the most significant of which was the opening of the Level III retail expansion in 1987, followed by the addition of the Food Court on Level I and an expanded parking garage which now accommodates over 700 cars.
