St. John's, NL - (May 30, 2003)
Fortis Properties in partership with Terminus1525 has teamed together to create murals on several of our parking lot walls in St. John's.
Terminus1525 is a media stage, screen and page for emerging creative voices across Canada. The intention of Terminus1525 is to provide a platform for emerging creators across the country, under the age of 25.
The producing team for Terminus1525 is made up of 4 young producers, located in Vancouver, Winnipeg, Montreal and St. John's, working under the leadership of the Executive Producer, based in Ottawa. The local producer is Montgomery Hall. Monty is a graffiti artist whose work has been exhibited in Canada and abroad. His studies combine all aspects of the visual arts and fine crafts with computer programming and his designs are seen on skateboards, zines and public murals. One of his most recent works is the mural at the Village Mall.
Terminus1525 is funded by the Department of Canadian Heritage and administed by the Canada Council for the Arts. In addition to these major contributors, partners have been secured to ensure the success of the project on a national level: National Arts Centre Hexagon Project, CBC and the National Film Board. Locally, Terminus1525 is supported by Fortis Properties Corporation, The City of St. John's and the Downtown Development Corporation.
